Johan Bassayev

Johan Bassayev (born September 28th, 1995), is an Indonesian model, actor, and artist. He made his acting debut at an early age, starting slow as a cameo in a local TV series, and has been continuing the journey since then from every chance he got after he graduated from acting school. He also made his debut as an advertising model in 2015 and he later paved his modeling experiences through several well-known magazines. His notable lead role in Who Killed Cock Robin (2021) drew much attention ever since the movie was released, as it is said to be the pinnacle of his era for the Bassayev in the industry.

Education

Majored in Professional Motion Pictures and Art at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts and graduated from the university in 2018.

Career

2012–2017: A birth of the prodigy

Bassayev's acting debut came at the age of 17 in SM Cookies (2012). He later admitted that he was not very interested in acting, but was inspired to hop into a more professional field of acting after developing feelings for his co-star, Claudia Halim. He continued to act ever since, even after he was accepted at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts to pursue his bachelor's degree. Three years of being a college student, he decided to take a break from acting; 'because I need to focus more on my study, and I have a hard time maintaining my job whilst preparing on my final thesis at once,' said the lad on an interview by the time he announced his hiatus, mentioning how difficult it is to pursue an acting career while studying even though his first movie, Unlimited (2017) had just released back then.

2019–2021: Rise after the dusk

His public profile was raised in 2019, a year after Johan graduated from his study, whereas at that time, he hasn't yet made a comeback from his short break. As it turns out, Bassayev took his time to enjoy as much of his free time as he pleases to before having his comeback on the screen as an actor in 2020; in a Korean short movie project, Freaky Handshake (2020) on Netfliks. That comeback alone led him to a rolling grace of popularity, and once again the name of Johan Bassayev arises as he started to receive both TV shows and modeling offers here and there. In 2021, Johan Bassayev made his appearance in MOVIECAPELLA's first movie, Who Killed Cock Robin (2021) as the male lead Ethan Byron whose lover in the story was the main character of it; played by again the long-time dearest friend of his, Claudia Halim. The movie was a big success, and since then, Johan has made a contract with MOVIECAPELLA to continue working with them and their every upcoming project ahead.

In September 2021, Johan signed a contract under an entertainment agency, STERNSYSTEM, as their Actor and Model talent.

Personal life

Although his personal life seems to be private, Johan is pretty well known to spent his restless nights around every time he's unoccupied from work. Being the extrovert that he is, it seems like the Bassayev we know still has that wild, carefree-like traits as he always prefers to be outside of his own bubble, meeting new friends every time he's given the chance to.

Bassayev is best friends with fellow model-actor and Who Killed Cock Robin co-star Claudia Halim, whom he has known since their school days as Claudia was in the same school with him, specifically a year younger junior of his.

Scandal
Somewhere in 2014 during his high school phase, he was rumored to be in an amateur-taken sex tape with his co-star Claudia Halim, as the low-quality clip itself has rapidly spread to the media back then. The scandal itself caught tons of attention to the young Bassayev, as he was still a newcomer to the industry. It's also said to be the reason why Halim herself flew far away from the lad to run away from the controversy and then pursued her bachelor's in the USA.

Again in July 2021, an International tabloid Dihpecah reported another news related to the pre-release of Who Killed Cock Robin, and a scandalous video involving Bassayev and Halim taken from the movie itself was leaked D-2 before its release (read here: Heboh, video syur mirip Claudia Halim dan Johan Bassayev tersebar di sosial media. And neither from Johan nor Claudia's side has said anything about the scandal up until today.

September 2021, Bassayev was once again said to be involved with Halim privately; baseless rumor said that he sent two luxurious cars as a gift for her birthday. The two actors and long-time best friends might or might not have established a romantic relationship by now, but unfortunately, none of them have said anything to officially announce their relationship to the public media.
